Jack Cross is a 0-3 Lieutenant Fighter Pilot of the US Navy. On September 2084 he is sent over seas for a special operational mission to examine and photograph enemy weaponry.

Upon entering enemy territory Cross is shot down by Anza Missiles, and crash lands 13 miles from where he was shot. Cross manages to survive with a few minor injuries. Luckily he landed close by his enemy's airplane bunker. Cross hops into one of the enemy planes and starts it up. While running down the runway, near by enemies hear the plane and quickly notice Cross is not one of their own. They start up their aircrafts chasing him down. Once in the air Cross notices that the direction he is headed in leads towards more enemy territory and he can't go back.

He must survive while enemies are flying towards him trying to gun him down. Cross must fight back and survive. This is his mission. Jack will be given a series of missions or scenarios the further he goes in the game. At periods in the game he can upgrade his aircraft with money earned on missions. Money can be earned by the number of enemies he shoots down. Weapons can also be purchased, but by default Cross will only have guns.
